Told Your Sisters!

As you will learn here, your Daddy and I don't like to keep information secret for too long...especially when it's about you! So, we wanted to tell your sisters (can't wait for you to meet them!!!!!) immediately when they got home from school that day. A few weeks before this, we had been talking a lot about having you, not sure when it would happen, but that we were doing everything we could to make you happen. =) That kind of grossed them out, but they were wanting a brother or sister, so they at least knew we were doing what we could! We had even talked through baby name ideas and had even started thinking about using the initials AJ, boy or girl. We tried to think about "A" names for a boy, but came up short...either all the cute ones we liked were already taken by close family or friends...or we didn't like them. As for the "J", your mommy has loved the name "Josiah" forever...he's one of the best kings in the Old Testament...after many, many, MANY evil kings...he was quite a guy! So, instead of that being your first name (Daddy would've let me name you that, but was a little worried just the same that you may get made fun of or beat up in grade school with that name!)...I thought, let's do the middle name instead. We just needed a good "A" name, but at this point, you weren't even in my belly yet, so we had time!

Anyway, back to telling your sisters...we sat them down (I think they thought they were getting in trouble!), and had the video camera rolling too. We mentioned that we had just talked about baby names the other day and we may need to really think about those a lot more now because you were in my belly now! They both just put their hands up to their face, completely excited and started tearing up too! It was a great reaction! They are so excited to be big sisters. And what big sisters they will be - I can't wait for you to find out. If you are lucky, Kyndall will show you how to draw - she's amazing. She'll be the sister that you'll come to when you need advice. She'll give you good advice too! She has already been a great big sis to Megan, so she defnitely knows what she is doing. She'll love you to pieces. Megan will be the sister that will hopefully teach you how to always stay a kid at heart. She'll play with you all the time. She'll be so good at making you feel like you are important, especially because big sister is paying attention to you and loving every minute of it. She'll tell you stories too...you'll love them, although they may come from out of the blue! =) These two girls will be the best big sisters you could have...I am crying just thinking about it all right now. You have no idea how good you will have it. Lucky, lucky you!

Told Your Daddy!

Okay, so I was alone at the doc's office when I found out you were in the making...and your Daddy was at home working. I had to wait around for another hour (everyone was at lunch!) to take a blood test, since the urine test was positive. But, I couldn't NOT come home for another hour or so, because your Daddy would wonder where I was...but I also couldn't just call him with this news...so I decided to take the 15 minute drive back to our house to tell him and then drive back for the blood test. When I got home, I ran up the stairs and I think your Dad thought I was crazy or something was super wrong...and out of breath, I said, "We're pregnant!". He probably thought he was dreaming too! =) We just hugged and teared up together...and then he went with me to get my first blood test. You have an amazing Daddy...already willing to do so much for you, only being two weeks in the making!

Positive Pregnancy Test!

It's crazy, little one, but I was in for my yearly exam (and not a day I ever look forward to!) and the doctor just had intuition to give me a pregnancy test for you. Can you believe it? I will always remember the doc coming around the corner into my room, saying "You're pregnant!". And then me, going, "Holy Crap! Am I dreaming? I feel like I am dreaming!". Yes, the first words out of my mouth when I found out I was pregnant was "Holy crap!!!", but trust me, this was all in such a good way! =) We wanted you so bad and thought we may have to do fertility testing and procedures to get pregnant (and had just talked to my doctor about that before she had me take a pregnancy test)...and instead, I already was! The best gift I have ever received!
